We have been celebrating Thanksgiving in the United States since 1863. It is popular belief that the first Thanksgiving was celebrated over a span of three days to give thanks to God for the pilgrims surviving their first harsh winter in New England. It was a great feast shared by the pilgrims and Native Americans. It is thought by many to be one of their favorite holidays and is a wonderful time to take pictures of the family during your Thanksgiving festivities. Here is a list of great ideas to use as scrapbook titles to compliment your Thanksgiving photos or to use in your holiday greeting cards. You could also print a banner to put on your wall as decoration for your Thanksgiving get-together print some of these titles on name cards for your table, print these titles on decorative paper and wrap around candles for your table centerpiece or around your water glasses. If you are making party favors for your guests you can add a saying to the gift tag.

Mason Jar Pies
Thanksgiving is all about the food. I always stuff myself with all kinds of delicious foods and hardly ever have room for dessert until hours later. Usually when we have guests over for dinner I'm left with a bunch of desserts or I'm making plates to take home of all the sweet treats because we always gorge ourselves with turkey and all the fixin's. So a great idea is just make the desserts ready to go so the guests can take them with them and can also be a Thanksgiving dinner favor. Try making individual pies in small mason jars for each of your guests. You could decorate the jars after you have baked the pies with scrapbook paper or ribbon and a tag with a greatful message that they came to dinner.

My First Turkey
I haven't blogged or scrapped lately. Just spent a week in the hospital not for my PH but with a mild colitis flair up and parotitis. Anywho, doing better now and getting back to everyday life. I made my first turkey the other day. It was my practice turkey for Thanksgiving. I must say I was impressed. Funny thing, I didn't take the packet of gibblets out of the bird because I couldnt find it. I just figured it didnt have one. After it was done and cut into it I found it. TOO FUNNY! Here's a pic. Wasn't she a beaut!
